Los Angeles Fire Outreach

We as a church are grieving alongside our brothers and sisters and fellow image bearers in Los Angeles through this terrible tragedy. As we lament and grieve, we know there is a call to do more. Our aim as a church is to be purposeful and to help in ways that do not hurt. At this point, we do not have a large-scale mobilization effort to do so, but we trust opportunities will present themselves. However, we do know of ways individuals can help respond:

PRAY

Dedicate time in your prayer life to lift up what is happening in Los Angeles.  You can do this in your own home or in our prayer room at the church.  God is the King of the Universe.  He is the one we can take all of our grief, all of our hurts, and all of our petitions to, and He has the power to do something about them.  Pray for everyone who has lost a home, resources, or a loved one.  Pray for the first responders who are bravely stemming the tide of this tragedy.  Pray for the everyday heroes who are making an impact.  Pray that God would intervene.

PARTNER

There are organizations set up to be mobilized in situations like this that are making a tremendous impact.  These groups support those who have lost everything and meet the needs of the city all around.  To support their work on the Los Angeles fires you can give directly on the links below.  There are also opportunities to sign up to be notified of when volunteer needs arise.

OUR CHURCH

As needs continue to arise in the rebuilding effort, our church will be on the lookout for ways to help through mobilizing individuals or teams.  As we find those opportunities, we will update this page to provide more ways you can support.  We have reached out to our conference of Mennonite Brethren churches and the Mennonite Disaster Services to be notified for those ways we can help. If you know of opportunities to do so or know of individuals who are in need in Los Angeles that we can try to help from afar, please reach out to us using the email link below.
