Pre-Camp Meeting / Health Screens

*There is no Pre-Camp Meeting. Please see Health Screening info below

Saturday, August 3rd/ 10am-12noon / The Bridge Courtyard
*State law requires that your camper complete a mandatory Health Screening. Without this Health Screening, students will not be allowed to attend camp. The Bridge offers a complimentary Health-Screen Saturday, August 3rd, where we will ask a few simple questions to ensure your student shows no sign of illness.
If your child does not receive this complementary Health Screening we offer, you will be charged a $10 fee for a screening to be completed by a Hume staff member. Please do not send a child to the Health Screening with a fever, they will not be allowed to attend camp. If your student is ill, give us a call to let us know.

FAQS

All medications, prescription and over the counter, are given to the nurses at Hume Lake. Campers are not allowed to have any medication in their bags or on their person. The only exceptions are inhalers or epi-pens.

All prescription medications must be entered into the Hume system when filling out the Hume Lake Medical Form online. Medications not listed in the Hume system will not be allowed at camp.

When you come to the Health Screening on Thursday, February 7th, screeners will take your medication and match it to what was entered online. Please bring all medications in a one-gallon zip lock bag labeled as follows:

“CAMPER NAME”
High School Summer Camp
The Bridge Bible Church
August 4th– 10th

If you would like to send letters/packages to your camper, please mail them prior to or within the first couple days of camp to:

“CAMPER NAME”
Ponderosa Week 9- Hume Lake Christian Camp
64144 Hume Lake Rd. Hume, CA 93628

Also, our Counselors give up this entire week to be with your students, some even take the week off work. If you would like to show your appreciation by making a “Care Package” for your student’s Counselor, please bring it to the Health Screening on August 3rd.

If, for any reason, you are bringing your camper up late or picking them up early, please notify our Student Ministry Assistant, Denise as soon as possible. It will severely delay our departure or return if we do not know of these special circumstances in advance.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

We know camp is expensive and we want to make it as affordable as possible for families who consider it a financial hardship. Let us work with you to make this happen! We have financial assistance available.
The Bridge Bible Church will not pay 100% of any camp registration.
The financial aid program exists to assist in sending students to camp.
The initial camp deposit is required before applying for financial aid.
The amount of money designated to you will be split in half and awarded incrementally based on how many work days you complete. Example: You are awarded $100 in financial aid. If you work one work day, you will only receive $50 towards your camp registration. Two days, $100.
Students are expected to work. This work is typically manual labor around the church campus so please dress accordingly (close-toed shoes, jeans, etc.).
Students are to behave properly while working and respect the work supervisor. Any misbehavior may result in the revoking of financial aid and nullification of previously worked days.
The student receiving financial aid must be present during the entire shift.
Work days are for the student ONLY. No parents, siblings, or friends.
Financial aid is not transferable to another financial aid applicant, including siblings.
While working, students are prohibited from driving any motor vehicle including, but not limited to: golf carts, motorized scooters, or atv’s.
The application to Hume Campership is required to receive financial aid and it is your responsibility to complete. You will receive an email from Hume with directions on how to complete that application.
If approved, The Bridge will pay for 50% of your requested scholarship amount and you are required to apply for the other half from Hume.
Hume does not typically award the full amount requested.
Any remaining balance after the Hume Campership is awarded is your responsibility to pay.
