Easter 2020 | #JesusChangedMyLife

Easter is one of the most important weekends in every church.  It’s when we invite friends and families to hear the Good News that Jesus really did conquer sin and death, and He proved it through the empty tomb and His resurrection.  And throughout the years, hundreds of people have come to a saving knowledge of Jesus at The Bridge on Easter.

This year presents a new challenge.  We cannot gather as we normally do. Yet, many people in our world are looking to find hope in this moment.  This is the moment for the Church to rise up and proclaim the message of Jesus’ transforming power. We believe this obstacle is actually an opportunity to share the Good News with far more people than a typical Easter by empowering you to be the voice!

Imagine if…

We help prepare you to share your testimony, and then, on the week leading up to Easter, we all post our own sixty-second videos on social media with the hashtag #JesusChangedMyLife. This way, people all over our city, quarantined in their homes and scrolling on their phones, would see a flood of stories about how the resurrected Jesus brings salvation, purpose, meaning and hope. One click on the hashtag and they could see hundreds of people — just like them — from churches all over talking about how Jesus changed their lives!

Rather than each of us inviting one person to an Easter service, we could each proclaim the gospel to hundreds of non-Christian friends and co-workers. And the best part is that every one of us is the ones proclaiming the gospel.

Before you go on, we just want to give you permission to own: This might be a challenge for you. Maybe you’ve never shared your faith story publically. Maybe you fear what the response might be. We get it. And if you are struggling with this, here’s our encouragement.  Your faith story isn’t meant to point to you, it’s for you to point people to Jesus. So, remember what He has done for you. And, who knows how God could choose to use this brave step to strengthen your faith or invite people you care about to Himself. Be bold!

Post your God stories April 6-11

Then post your story any time April 6-11 with the #JesusChangedMyLife hashtag and your church’s handle to connect viewers to a local church (i.e. #JesusChangedMyLife @thebridgebiblechurch_). As soon as they click on the handle, they will go to a page inviting them to an online Easter service where they will hear the gospel clearly preached, learn how to respond with faith, and find how to get connected with a local church.
