Nexus gathers every Sunday to celebrate life and connect with God through great music, laughter, awesome videos, and challenging messages from God’s Word. Sunday nights are intended to be a place for anyone, no matter where you are in life. Come hang out with us! It’s super fun, you’ll fit right in, and you’ll be challenged to grow closer to Jesus.

Our goal is to create a pressure-free environment, where the message is biblical, practical, and applicable. We want you & your friends to be able to experience and worship God in an authentic way.

We believe that church doesn’t have to be boring. At Nexus, you will experience and do things you won’t do anywhere else! It is our hope that you leave Nexus each week looking forward to the following week.

High School Impact Groups groups are made up of 10-12 students, of the same gender, that meet weekly during the school year with an adult leader that cares about you. Impact groups are a place to become known, and build authentic relationships with each other and Jesus.

Each Impact Group will…

  • Keep students accountable with consistent personal “no group” times
  • Pray for a missionary
  • Use their impact funds to serve the community

Frequently Asked Questions

Impact Groups meet in host homes on various evenings throughout the week. Meeting in a home creates a warm, friendly atmosphere for sharing life together.
Each Impact Group will look different, but a typical night will look something like this: welcome / snacks / hang out / Bible study / discussion / prayer. Being involved in an Impact Group is an awesome opportunity to grow closer to God, and closer to other like-minded High School students!
Nexus has incredible adult leaders who are ready to serve and teach High School students. All leaders have been screened and trained and are there to encourage, teach, guide, and help strengthen your walk with Christ. It may turn out to be one of your most significant relationships in High School.
Being part of a Impact Group is a privilege. We expect each Impact Group member to commit to the following:

  • Come to group prepared, equipped with a Bible, a pen, and a good attitude.
  • Respect your Impact Group leader. They are giving you their time because they WANT to minister to you.
  • Respect and be kind to others in your group.
  • Respect your Host Home. Help clean up at the end of every night.
Impact Group Registration takes place during the Open Enrollment dates at the bottom of this page. If you are interested in joining an Impact Group outside of Open Enrollment, please contact

Once you submit the registration form and pay online, you will receive an email confirming you are registered for Impact Groups.

If you are joining during the winter or spring, your Impact Group info will be emailed to you.

Student Leadership is for students who want to grow their relationship with God through serving. This commitment requires regular attendance in an Impact Group, Nexus Sunday Nights, The Bridge Big Group gatherings, as well as serving on a Nexus team. Student Leadership is a place to grow, learn, and have fun together.
As a Student Leader, you are committing to a core team of students that help run Nexus. We want to do our best to love you, to lead you, and to help you grow in your relationship with Jesus, as you lead and serve your peers. We do this in the following ways:

– Serve in a specific area approximately twice per month
– Attend monthly Leadership Meetings
– Follow Student Leadership expectations

Student Leadership lasts the duration of a semester; August-December and January-May. At the end of each term, you will have the opportunity to recommit for the next term. At that time, we will also accept new applications.
Student Leadership is broken down into multiple areas of service. We want you to serve in an area that you feel lines up with your strengths. Each area is unique and plays a vital role in the execution of Nexus Sunday nights. Take a look at all of them, pray about them, and make some choices. Please note: Placement in your first area of choice is not guaranteed.

Do you have a heart to help create a space that is unique to Nexus? You will work with a team to set up Nexus each week. Not only will you help with setting up and tearing down, you will meet with your team to creatively brainstorm the best way to configure a space in the Worship Center for Nexus. Should the ping pong table go here? Should foozball be there? You get a say!

You may be great for Setup/Teardown if you…
– Love being in the background
– Are a creative thinker
– Don’t mind lifting and moving things
– Are detail oriented

– Setting up all aspects of Nexus after main service
– Brainstorming and coming up with new ideas for the space
– Recruiting help from friends
– Requesting to replenish or add new pre-service game items

Each week, a team of students works together to lead worship. As part of the worship band, you will use your musical talent to lead others. Worship band includes practicing and learning new songs.

Up in the tech booth each week, computers are working magic to make our worship team sound good, to make the fun screen games work, and to make sure the lights are on. You would work with a team to make sure these things are being executed well.

You would be great for the Tech Team if you…
– Love computers or tech
– Enjoy being behind the scenes
– Are very observant and a good problem solver

– Ensuring that all slides/sound/lighting aspects are ready to go for Nexus
– Executing slides/sound/lighting as needed
– Creatively set up the Nexus space utilizing lighting/sound/video

You will work with a team to make every person who comes to Nexus feel welcome. On this team, you may be the first interaction someone has at Nexus. Together, you get to welcome and spend time with students to make sure they feel comfortable and get plugged-in at Nexus!

You will work with a team to brainstorm and create what we do at Nexus. You will get opportunities to be part of the creative process behind some of our big events and possibly have an opportunity to host on stage. This team is also in charge of taking over our social media on Sundays.

You would be great for the programming / hosting team if you…
– Enjoy being in front of a group of people

2. You will participate in fun and unique “leadership only” Nexus events & trips.
3. You also get priority registration to our Spring Break Mission trip

We are always looking for people who love Jesus and have a desire to show that love to teenagers. Serving in High School Ministry is fun, meaningful, impactful, and life changing, for you and the students.
Our ministry is not based on events, but rather the relationships formed through the events. It takes people to reach people. Hopefully, after reading this page you will think to yourself, “Hey, I can do that!”
All of our programs, events, and meetings are designed with one principle in mind: Student Ministry is relational. That means that at the core of every student’s ministry experience is a relationship with someone who can mentor, teach and disciple them to grow into a mature believer. Jesus modeled this through a discipling relationship with 12 men who soaked up his ministry along the journey. His plan to save the world was not rooted in teaching from a big stage or by showing people never-before-seen things. Yes, he did those things. But his plan to offer salvation rested in the relationships he built along the way.

Assist in various program elements for our large group meetings including spending quality time with students, running recreation, or helping to emcee up on stage. To better serve High School students we need a dynamic team! We are in need of volunteers of all ages, personality types, and walks of life.
Meet weekly with 8-12 students in a home where you will lead a discussion that grows their faith. Small groups are the heart of the High School Ministry and are always looking for people who love Jesus and care for teenagers.
Maybe you can’t make a weekly commitment right now, that’s ok! We are always looking to build our list of event leaders. We will tap you on the shoulder as a larger event comes up!
